On our second day in Lucerne, we took a memorable trip across Lake Lucerne in a paddle boat to Vitznau, where we boarded the rack railway train up to the summit of Mt Rigi. On the way up it started to snow, and by the time we reached the summit it was covered in cloud and snow.
Not to be daunted, we had lunch at the summit café and then decided to walk the 100m to the summit despite the cloud. As we got near the top, the cloud started moving and at the actual summit we had a clear view of the valley and lake below.
We then rode the train back down the mountain, with a stop on the way to pick up two cows (really, see the photos). By the time we were back in Vitznau the sun was shinning for our Paddle boat ride back to Lucerne.
The next day, we caught the main line train to Paris via Basel. We spent two days sightseeing Paris before heading to Great Britain. (Yes, more galleries to come!)
