6-Goa, India
In Goa, our second stop in India, we berthed in a commercial part of Mormugao Harbour.
We did a tour through the town called Vasco Da Gama to visit some old Christian (Catholic) churches.
Then we drove out into the countryside to a tropical spice plantation - even though I don't like spices! This trip into the countryside gave us a very different perspective on Indian life, compared to the city. It was, in fact, like stepping back in time. Small villages with narrow roads, and small farms, where people were eking out a living with very little.
On the way back, though, we also saw a major attempt at building better roads, to reduce congestion.
