11. Brewarrina, Walgett, & Narrabri

Leaving Bourke we headed east to Brewarrina, which is on the Barwon River. It,s a town with old buildings and lots of murals and street art. We then continued through to Walgett with its Jimmy Little water tower mural and a free camp overnight. Next day we continued east across largely flat land of cotton & wheat fields and had lunch at Wee Waa, before arriving in Narrabri to stop for the two night.

The Brewarrina lifting bridge was the second lift bridge to be built across the Barwon/Darling River and is the furthest upstream on the river.system
