Seal Bay & American River
Seal Bay is home to a large colony of Australian Sea Lions (not seals). Unlike Seals they are social animals and congregate in groups. We took the guided tour, and learnt a lot about them. Our next stop was American River, so named because American Whalers set up a base there in 1802 and constructed the first ship built in South Australia 'The Independence'. A group of enthusiasts are now hard at work recreating the original ship.
