Eddystone Point Lighthouse & Ansons Bay
An early start from Gladstone saw us at Eddystone Point Lighthouse, the most easterly point of Tasmania, by 8am. The 37km is mostly gravel, but it was in good condition. The Lighthouse, and Ansons Bay, are located on the edge of Mount William National Park. I think this is one of the most attractive lighthouses we have seen, being built from local granite and not painted white.
We then went to Ansons Bay, a beautifully peaceful spot with dark tannin water and visited the, so called, 'Historic Ansons Bay Bridge', before returning inland
