Woomelang Mobile Silo Art & Murals

Woomelang is another small Mallee town dependant of agriculture for its existence. It is situated on the Sunraysia Highway, 359 kilometres north-west of Melbourne with a population of under 200. The decline of such towns, due to larger farms worked by less people, has seen them attempt to attract tourism, and the Woomelang Mobile Silo Art and Metal Murals is one such attempt. Most of the Art is based on the native birds and animals of the area and the murals are local scenes. Unlike most concrete silos, that are only painted on one side, the artwork on the mobile ones goes right around the silo. This has meant taking a number of photos around each one. To reduce the number of photos in this gallery I have made collages of each one.
